The Flaming Fists




Background
Exactly when the Flaming Fists were founded is a secret only known to the chapter master, and the Primarch Rogal Dorn. They were first mentioned in the Imperial Annals during the 11th Black Crusade. At the siege of Morpheus there is recorded:
“... and on the 119th day of this terrible siege a great explosion blossomed in the enemy camp, and through the smoke there were observed Space Marines advancing on the enemy. Their Armour was dark yellow and with great vengeance they descended upon the chaos host and utterly eradicated them with their weapons. After defeating the host, they swiftly disappeared.” 301. M39 as written by Sebastian Ultor, scribe to his most glorious Governor Theodor Knapp.
After this engagement the Flaming Fists were more often seen on the Imperial battlefields. Every were they went they sowed destruction upon their enemies, and then quickly disappeared. To this day there are no recordings of them ever talking och socialising with other chapters or servants of the God-Emperor.
They don’t answer to hails on the vox, they don’t answer to direct communication, and they only answer to the threats towards the Imperium of Man. This has led many to be wary of the Flaming Fists, but since they are experts at eradicating the Emperors foes, they are tolerated on the various battlefields they appear upon.


Battle doctrine
When observed fighting many has remarked on their way of conducting themselves, they seem to have more individualization and specialization among their Space Marines than usual. Each one as a place, and are a part of the fighting force but they seem to be more specialized than usual. The Heavy weapon teams are experts in their chosen weapons, but seem to be less so when fighting in close combat. The same is observed among the close combat experts, they seem almost reluctant to fire weapons, instead advancing at great speed towards the enemy, and then shred him to pieces. They operate almost machine like, everything has a place in the whole. And nobody moves outside his assigned role or position.

The Mortalis squad
The greatest honour that can be bestowed upon a Flaming Fist is to be selected to enter the Mortalis Squad. This is a highly trained and specialized force whose main task is to enter and cleanse Space Hulks and similar threats to the Imperium. They are selected for their zeal, dedication and stubbornness. All in the squad are experts in their own field of warfare.

Battle Captain
Friedrich von Wrangel
Background: Friedrich is newly assigned to the Mortalis squad. He has not had the chance to prove himself, yet, but has worked tirelessly towards this goal for decenniums. He is determined not to fail in his task, and to bring even more glory and honor to the Mortalis squad than his predecessors.
Equipment: Terminator armor, Stormbolter, Powersword

Master Sergeant
Karl Litzman
Background: Karl is not only Sergeant in the Mortalis squad, a highly honored and sought after title. He is also the unofficial demolition expert of the squad. Karl spent 10 years on Mars under the teachings of the Omnissiahs techpriests there; it was thought that he would be one of the Techmarines in the chapter, but that would not be. Karl loves the feel och his chainsword and the roar of the bolter. And the only thing that he might love more, were the only thing he truly mastered: explosives. Given time he can make almost anything explode, and that is the only time Karl is truly happy, exploding the Emperors foes, and tearing through the remains with his chainsword.

Master Surgeon
Felix von Lichnowsky
Background: Felix main concern is the well fare of his squad! He as pilfered bought, found and stolen Medi-packs for his squad mates, thereby saving their lives countless times. His main concern at the moment is the welfare of his Captain, who doesn’t have a Medi-pack! Felix intends to remedy this at the earliest possible moment. All must be saved!

Master of Honor aka”Yellowbringer”
Karl Friedrich von Vincke
Background: Karl Friedrich distinguished himself at the first battle of Mortalis. He singlehandedly carried, whilst fighting, the blessed chapter paint. There by earning the nickname “Yellowbringer”. Despite various treacherous attempts by heathens and cultist trying to destroy him and seizing the blessed paint he prevailed. He is the Master of honor in the chapter, this means that he judges the chapters honor duels.

Heavy weapon gunner
August Stramm
Background: Nobody was happier than August when he got issued a Multi-Melta, except maybe his squad mates. Being an extremely lousy shoot with the Holy Bolter, the chapter despaired at what to do with young August. But everything worked out nicely the day he first tried out the Multi-Melta. Nobody is a finer shoot with this heavy weapon than August. If there is a sharp shooter award with the Multi-Melta it’s already been earned time and time again by August.

Heavy weapon Gunner
Maximilian Schumann
Background: Is almost as good a shot with his assigned weapon as August, It’s a constant contest between them who kills the first heretic, who blasts open the first Terminator and so on. They both keep tally and right Maximilian hopes that this time, he will replace August as the best sharpshooter with the Multi-Melta.
