It was great meeting the guys at Adepticon!

I hope it's okay and this is the right sub-forum to post this in. I saw this appears to be "general" discussion, and that there's a thread about Henrik's Adepticon showing.
Greetings from the US; in my case New Hampshire, a small state in the Northeastern corner! My name is Ragnar Arneson (I am of partial Swedish descent myself), and I moderate at Dakkadakka.com for the past ten years. I am addicted to competitive 40k, and play a lot of tournament and league games, although perhaps not that high a number by European standards. I probably only average a hundred or hundred and fifty games a year. Although I also play Warhammer Fantasy and D&D, so I am clearly an inveterate geek.
I flew back today from Adepticon and am still recuperating from the lack of sleep and high alcohol intake, but was extremely pleased to be able to meet and hang out with Richard, Henrik, Joakim and Daniel. I did miss the privilege of playing them, but we spent a lot of time talking and drinking, especially Sunday night. Overall I have to say that they are an excellent crew, and were ideal ambassadors for Sweden to the US 40k community, at what I think most people consider the biggest and best event in the US. I can only hope we were as entertaining and friendly to them as they were to us.
My only disappointment was that Daniel arrived an hour late for our scheduled challenge match this morning, which we were to play on a dining table in the hotel's Presidential Suite. And that because of this delay we could not play. In his intoxication in the middle of the night, Daniel declared that Chaos Space Marines is the weakest codex in 40k, and that if we played, him using his Blood Angels with Mephiston, two Storm Ravens with Dreadnoughts, and three Razorback squads, I would be tabled in 30 minutes. Naturally, I, in my own drunken haze, took this as a personal affront and told him I would, to the contrary, not be tabled and would kick his new-codex-wielding ass all over the board. Gauntlet thrown down and picked up!
But then, apparently after his drunken bravado had faded, he denied me the pleasure of defending my army's honor. I considered announcing it a default due to his lateness and declaring that he did so out of cowardice...
...but then I thought "Daniel's a nice guy, and was drunk, so that would be wrong." Then, this morning, at least SOMEWHAT sober, Daniel continued to trash talk over breakfast! This may just have been a clever ploy to keep me interested in fighting him, and if so, it worked! I will not be denied the chance to... a) win the bet by not being tabled in 30 min, or b) best that by not being tabled at all, or c) embarass him badly by actually winning the game, or d) make him a laughingstock by kicking his ass.
This game must happen. I *may* have the opportunity to visit Sweden at some point this summer. IF that happens, I would love to play there. If not, then we have a provisional agreement to play the Thursday night at the beginning of next year's Adepticon.
I thank you once again for sending such a great bunch of guys to hang out with us, drink our (in Henrik's words) "Excellent beer!", and talk shit about our armies.
I very much look forward to seeing you guys again and meeting more of your community, as it clearly produces and contains great players and people.
